작년 고용허가제, 캄보디아 출신 근로자 최다

지난해 고용허가제로 입국한 외국인 노동자 중 캄보디아 출신이 가장 많았던 것으로 조사됐다. 5일 고용노동부에 따르면 지난해 우리나라에 들어온 캄보디아 출신 노동자는 8천47명으로 전체 외국인 노동자(5만1천730명) 중 15.5%를 차지했다. 캄보디아 출신 근로자는 2007년(198명)부터 고용허가제로 우리나라에 들어온 이후 6년 만에 무려 40배가 증가했다.

2007년 이후 매년 가장 많았던 베트남 출신은 지난해 6천853명에 그쳐 2011년에 비해 절반 가까이 줄어들었다. 베트남 출신은 2007년부터 매년 1만명 안팎의 인원이 들어왔다. 인도네시아 출신은 6천110명이었으며 네팔과 태국 출신 근로자도 5천876명과 5천31명이 들어왔다. 지난해에는 베트남 등 기존에 다수를 차지했던 출신국의 비중은 줄어들거나 정체된 반면 캄보디아 등 기존에 적었던 출신국의 증가세가 뚜렷이 나타났다.

2009년 9천명을 넘었던 필리핀과 태국 출신 근로자는 지난해 2천844명과 5천31명으로 줄어들었다. 인도네시아 출신도 전년보다는 늘었지만 1만2천명이 입국했던 2008년에 비해서는 절반으로 감소했다. 이처럼 베트남 등 기존 출신 국가의 외국인 근로자 수가 줄어든 것은 불법체류자가 많이 늘어났기 때문으로 분석된다.

지난해 말 취업자격으로 우리나라에 들어온 외국인 근로자 가운데 베트남 출신 불법체류자는 1만7천954명으로 전체 6만6천983명 중 가장 많았다. 한족을 포함한 중국 출신이 1만7천394명으로 뒤를 이었고 필리핀(8천416명), 인도네시아(5천407명), 태국(3천725명) 순으로 많았다. 고용노동부 한 관계자는 “베트남 출신의 경우 불법체류자가 양산돼 고용허가제시 정책적으로 조정한 측면이 있다며 사업주들의 선호도도 예전만 같지 못한 것도 한 원인”이라고 말했다./ yna.co.kr
