금융위, 베트남·캄보디아와 금융감독협력 MOU

금융위원회가 베트남과 캄보디아와 금융감독협력 양해각서(MOU)를 체결함에 따라 우리나라 금융회사의 동남아 신흥국 진출에 탄력을 받을 것으로 보인다.

추경호 금융위 부위원장은 지난 5일부터 10일까지 4박6일간 베트남 하노이·호치민과 캄보디아 프놈펜을 방문했다. 추 부위원장은 캄보디아 중앙은행(National Bank of Cambodia)을 방문해 치아 찬토(H.E. Chea Chanto) 총재와 금융정책 및 감독 정보교환, 인력교류, 교육훈련을 주요 내용으로 하는 금융감독협력 MOU를 체결했다.

베트남에서는 재무부 짠 쭈안 하(Tran Xuan Ha) 차관과 총리실 팜 반 푸옹(Pham Van Phuong) 차관을 만나 이전에 체결한 금융감독협력 MOU 활성화 방안 등을 논의했다. 양국 금융당국 간 인력교류 차원에서 호치민에 파견된 금융관을 통해 양국 금융협력을 강화하는 한편, 하노이에는 금감원 사무소 설치를 위한 협력에 합의했다. 금융위 관계자는“이번 MOU 체결을 계기로 금융감독 역량강화 등을 위해 양국 금융당국 간 협력을 강화하는 한편, 양국 금융회사의 상호진출 확대 등을 적극 지원해 나가기로 합의했다”고 말했다.

베트남은 우리나라의 제4위 해외직접투자 대상국으로서 총 41개의 한국계 금융회사가 진출하는 등 동남아 신흥국 중 한국 금융 분야와의 교류 및 협력이 가장 활발한 곳이다. 캄보디아는 국내계 2개 은행 진출에 이어 한국거래소(KRX)의 캄보디아 증권거래소 설립지원 및 운영참여 등 최근 한국과의 금융협력에 있어 폭과 범위가 확대되고 있다.

한편, 추 부위원장은 베트남 및 캄보디아에 진출한 우리 금융인 및 기업인과의 간담회를 개최해 현지의 영업상 애로사항 및 현지화 현황 등을 듣고 지원방안 등을 논의했다. 금융위 관계자는“이번 출장을 통해 향후 금융공공기관의 금융인프라 수출, 국내 금융회사의 해외진출 등이 더욱 활성화될 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.#
